ABOUT BRIGHT HOPE
Right now, nearly 720 million people are stuck living on less than $2 a day. For more than 50 years, Bright Hope has been providing sustainable solutions to help struggling families break the poverty cycle permanently. We do this by empowering in-country churches to transform their communities through a three-pronged approach. Hope for Today programs meet immediate needs for food, clean water, and medical care. Hope for Tomorrow programs build incomes and skills through education, microfinance, and job training. Hope for Eternity programs equip in-country churches to share the love of Jesus in tangible ways through pastoral training, family empowerment, and evangelism.

ZAMBIA
Zambia is a landlocked country of 20.5 million people located in Southern Africa. More than 60% of the nation live under the poverty line, with over 40% of them considered to live in extreme poverty (under $2.15 a day.)  In addition to facing extreme poverty rates throughout the country, more than 2 million people suffer with HIV/AIDS.

Bright Hope works primarily in northeastern Zambia in two primary ways. First, we work with the churches and families to see what the needs are and how the community can address them. Second, through the Christian Farmers Association (CFA), we increase agricultural training efforts that will provide families with household food security and significant increases in income.

We also partner with the Samfya Bible School (SBS), which offers Biblical foundations training courses and an advanced leadership development program. The school targets rural church leaders regardless of education level or economic status with discipleship training to see training move from leaders to church members.

TEAM GOALS:   We invite you to visit Bright Hope’s church partners in Zambia to gain a deeper understanding of our programs, to learn about the impact and progress they have had on the communities this past year, and to encourage the local church communities.

Join us to see all that God is doing in Zambia!
